This year, DAPP introduced a new course at the DAPP Vocational Training School called ”The Kindergarten Teachers of the Future program” (Early Childhood Development (ECD) teaching). The first 20 students started in January while the other group started in July. This course started with simple and borrowed furniture.
Recently,Alexander Forbes partnered with DAPP Vocational Training School and sponsored brand new tables and chairs to the program to much delight of the students and teachers.
Furthermore Alexander Forbes also donated second hand furniture with small defects that the company did not need anymore.
A truckload of this furniture was delivered at the school near Outapi, where it was well received. DAPP Namibia then invited key staff for a building action during an extended weekend where the aim was to repair and reassemble the used furniture and then to find the best use for each piece. The tables, chairs, shelves, reception desk, the window blinds and room dividers etc. needed new metal angles, new wheels, screws, new legs and more smaller pieces, that were found and procured.
